Earthwatch has been engaging school children with science, nature and sustainability since 2016. Our specialist Learning Team provide science-based outdoor experiences for both children and educators. FreshWater Watch can be embedded within learning programmes as a fun, hands-on, activity to reinforce knowledge around fresh water. It gives students the inspiration and tools needed to take action for the planet. Our schools programme offers both in-school and online learning resources for teachers and students.

Learning outdoors encourages children to be healthy and active. It develops their understanding of nature and the world around them. Research has linked outdoor learning opportunities to pupils’ wellbeing. Given that we are an inner-city school, some of the children we teach may have few opportunities to spend time outside enjoying nature. If we can provide more of these, we should.
